Who I am
Hmmm — how do I explain who I am?
I'm an MBA ghost who loves getting my hands dirty and building things.
01 — The ghost of MIT Sloan
I technically spent two years at MIT Sloan getting an MBA, but my classmates sometimes called me a ghost because I was rarely in the business school 😊 Instead, I spent much of my time wandering around the other side of MIT — CSAIL, the Brain and Cognitive Sciences building, engineering classrooms, research labs, and basically every corner of campus except Sloan's own building.
That probably says more about me than any label on my resume.
02 — Beyond the business layer
I have a business background, but I am also deeply curious about technology itself. I am not trained as an engineer or scientist, but I believe that if I want to understand where business is going, I need to understand the technologies shaping today's products and services, and imagine how future technologies might reshape the world. That means going beyond surface-level trends — into the underlying systems and fundamental science, and closer to frontier research and the people pushing it forward. And honestly, I absolutely love being mind-blown.
So I had a lot of fun talking with engineers and researchers about the wonderfully crazy problems they were solving. I still remember hearing about work on materials that could survive the extreme conditions of nuclear fusion, new forms of computing inspired by the brain and the octopus, and ways for machines to perceive a room without ever using a camera.
I also sat in on classes where I understood almost nothing at first, but somehow they pushed me to ask questions I had never thought about before. I took a class on the human brain and was in awe of what evolution had created: a relatively small organ capable of perception, memory, and thought (Bonus: I saw an actual brain hemisphere in our final session! 🩷) I sat in on Minds and Machines to understand the historical debates around the body-mind question, intelligence and consciousness. I audited computer vision. When I saw a lot of matrices and equations, I found myself wondering how something as physical and intuitive as human perception could be translated into digital representations — and ultimately modeled through mathematics.
03 — Building to see
Beyond talking and taking classes, I love building things myself. I may not be a traditional software engineer, but ideas keep coming to me, and I feel incredibly grateful that AI tools now allow me to bring many of them to life on my own. Building lets me actually touch the technology — and develop a feel for it that reading alone cannot give me.
The things I build tend to revolve around a set of questions that I'm trying to answer. How can we create something at scale that makes information not only more accessible, but also activate hidden things in people, which can truly plant curiosity and eventually allow that curiosity to drive their learning? And how might technology help people better understand who they are?
I have explored these questions through several products: a tool for searching films through scenes and emotions, a way to discover clothes that express your personal style, and a learning tool I originally built for myself to explore questions while watching videos.
My goal has never been simply to produce more things. I build to test what the technology can actually do, where it breaks, and which limitations matter. Through these projects, I begin to understand why researchers are working on certain problems, what today's models are still missing, and what may need to be invented next. Building turns abstract ideas into something tangible — and then leaves me with even more questions than I started with.
So yeah, I may have gone to MIT for the MBA, but the most joyful part of the experience was the freedom to wander across buildings, disciplines, and ideas — and then turn some of that curiosity into things of my own.
